Bea, this is a great video, confirming what I am observing about Turkey's vibrant economy in my (so far) three weeks here. I had no idea the Turks are such capitalists! More power to them.
The suburb of Kayseri we live in is certainly booming. Someone described Kayseri as a "boom town" -- it has grown by 100,000 or so within 10 years. High rises are shooting up all over the place. The overly fast construction may lead to some shortcuts taken. OSHA would be horrified.
During the day I constantly hear bulldozers and construction workers. Roads around our new building went unpaved until Monday, when suddenly tar was spread in anticipation of a visit from Turkish president Abdullah Gull that evening. He is from Kayseri and cut the ribbon for our new university, Meliksah, where Lucia teaches English. The buildings for the university have shot up in a matter of months. It was amazing to see how much the construction workers accomplished over the weekend before the President's visit -- they must have worked in 24 hour shifts! We are still living in a dusty neighborhood but it is changing fast.

I have seen a lot of articles and even books talking about the rise of Turkey as a superpower. The economic opportunities available is just one of the many reasons I plan on moving to Turkey.
